Story in a Box

This section is a work in progress. Here's what we hope to do:

What if you could find all kinds of information about a specific story in one place?
Exegesis and word analysis. Cultural and geographic information. Commentaries and articles.
Questions that come up when working on or telling this story. How multiple intelligence models apply, etc. Throw in ideas and information from other storytellers who've told this story: what worked, what didn't, what to watch out for.

These things are available, especially on the Web, but mostly organized by type of material, not by story. So you have to go different places to find everything you want. A ton of Google searches later, you have what you need.

What if we put all the helpful information about a Specific Story in one place? In a "Box".
New and experienced storytellers could look up the "Box" for a story and find a variety of ideas and resources in one spot. CinDay is going to try. Our first story will be Mark 4:35-41, Jesus Calms the Storm.

Calming the Storm

The is calm, the night is bright
Jesus is with us and all is right.

The crowd's gone home, we're all alone,
Peace and quiet, it's a still, still night.

There's the lake, there's a boat
Jump in fellas, let's get afloat.

Come on Jesus, climb aboard,
Come on Jesus, you're not ignored.

Sailing on the lake, all is fine
Sailing on the sea, could it be a sign?

Suddenly….

The wind starts to blow,
The waves begin to crash;
Come on boys, row..
There's another lightning flash!

The waves grew higher
The wind became stronger
The boys began to tire…
We're can't row for much longer!

Jesus can you save us,
Jesus do you care?
They're drowning all around us!
Jesus, why don't you care???

Where is your faith, don't you believe?
Where is your courage, where is your creed?
Trust in me and all will be well
I'm here to help - can't you tell?

Jesus stood up and stretched out his arm
Called on nature for a bit of calm!
He spoke to the wind and spoke to the seas
And before you knew it, there was a gentle breeze.
